Depends how she pronounced it.

I asked the lady to pronounce it three times. It is pronounced EXACTLY THE SAME as the English “F word”.

Now I am with you. There are a number of varieties.

Thuk bouer (lilly flower) is my favourite.

Yes quite precisely

And the "thuc" is indeed the Thai word for a bottle gourd (calabash).

Yes 20 baht is a fair price.

Thanks for that, but with no offence intended, could you please advise how you know 20b is a fair price?

For example, have you had much experience in dealing with thuks?

Because similar vegetables that I have purchased over 3 years in Thailand cost roughly the same...and that is in street/wet markets. A price like that in Makro is good. If you have seen anything cheaper  let us know.

If Porn likes a "thuc" and if she says not yet......is she just trying to be difficult???

In that case I would pass on the thuc and grab a Chinese Morning Glory for 45b instead
