My ex-wife (who is Thai) and I will be going house hunting in Thailand in February in search of a house for our son who is 29 years old and has both Thai and American citizenship. SCB currently charges 6.2% with a life insurance charge of 25k up front for 20 years coverage. If my wife dies, I get a free house. I want it my name because it's my house that I paid for. Why would I not bother? ? Not to mention my husband as 2 children, that would surely make their claim to 50 percent upon my husbands death.
