I have never used mine outside of Thailand.

Will it work ???

If it's a Visa/MC (Cirrus) Electronic card it will work worldwide. If it's an ATM only card

it will work in ATM's in all ASEAN countries.

My SCB (Debit) card is a Mastercard Electronic card ... "SCB Easy card" Black in colour, with the Cirrus logo.

I have used it at ATM's in a number of countries in SEA including Sing. and K.L.

I have used the same in the US.

However, I do have a question.

For expats returning to their home countries who still have alot of money in Thai bank accounts, do you think there would any problem with draining their Thai bank account with periodic ATM withdrawals of 10,000 baht (equivalent) or do you think someone at the bank would eventually freeze your account?

Yes, that's possible.

One solution may be to have online access to your SCB account, and have accounts with a few

other banks (online access not really required) .

If SCB freezes your card (they would not freeze the actual account) then

transfer funds to another account online and use this card to draw funds from overseas ATM's.

In fact it's probably better to do it this way, and never use your SCB card. This way no bank

really knows what's happening. :o

Actually, I am not sure what you mean exactly.

Do you mean do an online transfer to another THAI bank account? I can see how that might work.

Or did you mean to do an online transfer to a Western bank account (and wouldn't they block that if it was a large amount)?
