another new flyover in Sri Racha?

Featured Replies

Sri Racha has always been a bottle-neck and the unavailability of land for a by-pass has meant that to ease traffic the authorities have resorted to bulding a series of flyovers.

I hear now that a new (final??) flyover is to be built covering the centre of the towm.

does anyone know about this? ..or has seen the plans. It looks like they intend to start just South of Tuk.com, but how far it will extend from there is a mystery.

will it be more like the BKK expressway and just fly over the town centre?

I also wonder how long this will take and what it will do to Sri Racha town centre.

Apart from the dust etc from the work, there appears to be little or nowhere for the traffic to go whilst the work is carried out.

so...any information on this would be welcome as I often have to commute through this town.

I know, I was talking to someone with a business there, and they are very concerned about the potential disruption.

This road plan appears to stretch from Laem Chabang to the far side of Sri Racha the LC - to SR part seems now complete - - exactly what happens next, I don't know.

Not to worry. It's NOT a tunnel, which Thais can't build. The TVF Central Planning Bureau understands and approves of flyovers as they're fast to build and the building doesn't disrupt traffic (never mind those years and jams re: the Laem Chabang flyover), cheap as chips, look great (really enhance the surroundings), don't flood like the Pattaya tunnel (in our imaginations anyway), and remain accident-free. Right on, flyover!

New flyovers will be a nice addition for anyone in those smart new condo buildings situated about 3 yards from that road.

Imagination is such an integral part of most mindless Thai bashing.

Say what you want but they built 3 flyovers in the time that it took Pattaya to build 1 tunnel

Comparing tunnels and flyovers is just daft.

however, there have been major works on that stratch of road since about 2007.....and they are still repairing the latest flyover - there were floods under it within days of it opening.
