Most decent places close at 10. I'm looking for a place that does good full body massages and can accommodate a couple. Private rooms would be good but not essential. Inside the Moat would be ideal but downtown or a little further away would also be OK.

 

I know there are lot of places in the Loi Kroh/Night Bazaar area that are open till late but all the ones I know are generally small, fairly cramped shops geared towards single men and the masseurs are generally not great at massage.

I don`t recommend going to any massage parlours the last thing at night.

 

Tried it several times and by that time the staff are pretty much tired and worn out. On one occasion stopped off for a massage in the town at 10.00pm. Shop closed at 12.00 midnight. Within 15 minutes the lady was rubbing my arm with her eyes closed, struggling to keep awake. I told her to forget it, paid the money and called it a day. On another occasion the lady literally fell asleep sitting up next to me.

 

The best times to go are during the afternoons, when the staff are still fresh and haven`t dealt with too many customers.

 

As regarding couples massage, the Chiang Mai massage parlours are not geared up for it, unlike in Bangkok and Pattaya, you`ll end up being disappointed.

Even I know that a massage needs a minimum of 2 people, the receiver of the massage and the masseur/masseuse.

 

Does CM have a different system to the rest of the country or is this a euphemism for something I am missing and we cannot talk about?

 

I assume it must be some sort of  

 

Actually I've been to a few places in CM that massaged me and a girl in the same room. Was never disappointed. None are open after 10pm of course.
