Either they're so dumb they actually think people believe their BS or their so arrogant they simply don't care. To rub salt in the wounds on the victim's family, they're saying they only want recruits who are tough, thus implying to the family that the victim was not tough. Tough or not, anyone can die after being beaten to death. Prayut and Prawit saying they also experience this kind of treatment in the army is laughable. Can you seriously imagine either of these buffoons taking a beating? Never happened. It is an insult to man and women in uniform all over the world that Prayut and Prawit have the nerve to call themselves soldiers. Would you follow them onto a battlefield? Would you trust somebody you knew was not up to the task to protect your back on the ground under fire? Unfortunately it is a double edged sword, on one side yes, the recruit needs to be tough to carry out what he is being ultimately trained for, but on the other proper supervision needs to be maintained to achieve this. All speculation I know but I'm sure there was a medical issue involved in this tragic incident. Otherwise you would be hearing of these sort of incidents every single day as this is standard operating procedure for recruit training.
Sydebolle
Code Red and this time it sticks on the Army's back. What a difference in cultures! Remember the student, Otto Warmbier, who was airlifted out of North Korea back to the US in a rescue operation? Nobody ever will find out why he died, because his Jewish parents could follow their faith. From a medical or political point of view possibly wrong, but definitely the right thing from a human point. Bottomline is, a Thai cadet is a slave in the hands of despots under the rule of Prawit and his cronies.
Jools
The French Revolution righted many wrongs. Thailand needs a similar event with public executions of military officials and a reorganization of the military under civilian control. Automatic death penalty for anyone above the rank of Lieutenant would be a good place to start.

My money would be on the latter : they are pretty dumb, but what it comes down to is that they really don't give a toss.
Media1
A organisation obviously being run by lunatics. The best thing is to sue them. The public are already waiting to vote this regime out. Prayut is desperate and knows he must become the number 1 D now.

But, and I am not excusing them, they will have been the subject of a military enquiry, and a civilian coroner's inquest. Those responsible will have been disciplined, properly and openly.None of these deaths have been as a result of the recruit having been beaten to death during training.Sent from my KENNY using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Very early on they did make laws that they can never be held accounted or prosecuted for any decision they make or are a part of.
