Sadly, over the years, I've seen quite a few blokes that look like that, even some much worse than that in fact, cruising around Sukhumvit Road late at night looking very drugged out and desperate. They can also become very aggressive and unpredictable. And some of them look as if they wouldn't have a chance of scoring a punter and might be sleeping on the streets at night. Despite all the laughs about this subject, unfortunately, there is a very dark side to it all. A lot of these guys can be dangerous and end up trying to hurt and rob people on the street, the more desperate that they become to feed their needs and drug problems. -

New M4 Mac mini
My new Mac mini arrived today, a day early. The initial setup was a breeze, but it took me a while to fine tune it. Sort of aggravating. Apple keeps changing things around in the settings menu. Anyway, it's amazing what they can pack into such a small computer. -

TM30 - real estate agent reports online, but you still need to go and report it yourself!!!
Your story is strange. We have lots of guests arriving in rental villas for a holiday. It will be the same for hotels. We do all TM 30 reporting on-line. Never any problems. Even when long term guests go for visa extensions, as long as we have reported them via the online TM 30 system, no problems. Immigration here are happy as long as there is a TM 30 report. The problem would seem to be your local office or even the individual clerk. -

Route: Uttaradit to Nong Khai
Well the app says it's quicker but I am imagining getting stuck behind a slow moving ve-hicle or something. I just have no sense of how major/minor these roads are and the shorter route looks very minor on the map. I don't know either route. I haven't really driven much in Thailand. In fact I haven't driven much at all since about 2010 when I sold my last car. That's probably why I don't trust the app... I was just thinking of stopping for lunch but I could make it a few hours or overnight if there's somewhere worth seeing. Somewhere around Loei would make sense but I've seen Loei itself before. -

As I said before, get used to it if you live here long term. There's no "answer" that will let you escape the hassle. It's part of living here and something you need to consider before retiring here. If you want an answer as to why it's like that, it's because things are broken and people are not educated and trained to problem solve. That's not going to get fixed anytime soon.
