Delay using Visa

Featured Replies

Hello Friends,

Please help me if possible.

My business visa expires next month. I was supposed to fly this 22nd ( tomorrow) but because of delay I am having to fly next month. How many days stay will I get in your educated opinion please as my work will need me to be there for at least 2 weeks. What if work is delayed will I have to get work permit? My business partner may not be able to get work permit because we are independent company in Chennai, India. What extra documents do immigration of Thailand ask or will business visa sticker suffice to let me pass? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Any additional information you want please ask. Thank you

Any entry on a visa prior to expiration gets the normal permitted stay (non immigrant 90 days) so if understand correctly that you are outside Thailand now but will still have a valid Thai visa when you return.

If you do not have a visa but an extension of stay (TM7 form you filled out and obtained from local immigration allowing one year stay) and that expires next month you would only be allowed entry for the time remaining (and that only if you have a re-entry permit).

First time coming to the great place. When I come next month my visa will expire in less than 2 weeks and I need 2 weeks or slightly more maybe for meeting, visiting sites etc and also some sightseeing if possible.

More importantly friends, I want to know what information immigration people will ask - or will they only see my visa in passport and give me 90 days stay without asking why you come now, why delay, etc? Please.

True reason why i got delayed because my colleague fell ill i had to visit another site in India in his place. And Thailand I want to go too:-)

The visa time is to use for entry - not how long you can stay - you can arrive on the last day it is valid and still stay the normal permitted time for the class of visa used.  If they mention kind of late arriving just explain why - should not be a problem.  Business plans often change so nothing out of the ordinary.

Thank you good friend. Can you please confirm what documents immigration will ask to see? Project details etc? Return tickets? The details have changed so am I under obligation to update them too? Or is it not required.

Immigration will not want anything other than your passport and a completed arrival card.

If you have a non immigrant B visa you will get a 90 day entry as long as you do it before the enter before date on the visa.

I need help to fill TM30 form.

If exit date is April 2 can i put April 2 2018 on TM30 form. I will not be staying till April 2 of course. I will stay for business not more than 10-15 days. My tickets not booked.

As mentioned, if you have a Non B visa, and arrive in Thailand on or before the Enter before date on the visa, you will receive a 90-day stay. Please note that, depending on the nature of the business you intend to conduct, you may need a work permit to work legally.

Will they ask to see it while entering, pls

You are not staying in a hotel/guest house/rental?  Normally travellers do not have anything to do with TM30 and landlords are responsible for reporting foreigners.

You do not need to complete a TM30 form for entry to the country. In most cases you will not need to do one all.

You stated you will only be staying for about 2 weeks so there would be no need to apply for an extension or do anything else and at a immigration office.

Don't worry about the TM30 form.

ok thank you mr uibonjoe. if i have further questions i will com here again.

Usually, they will not ask to see additional documents when you enter with a valid visa. It is conceivable they might if they suspect you of illegal working. Make sure the dates on your notification of short, urgent and necessary work is correct.

what is this notification, you mean the email from their sales manager in thailand?

  • Author

no question of illegally working of course. but what can u say of another's person's suspectingability. will be suspected of illegally working wrongly while entering thailand is my question.

  • Author

explanation: no question of illegally working because cost of living in thailand is 3 times that in chennai.

The TM30 form is supposed to be filled out by the "House-Master, Owner or the Possessor of the Residence" where you will be staying. It is not for the visitor themselves to fill out.  Assuming you are staying in a hotel for example, it is the hotel management that has to submit the form or risk being fined - not the person staying there.
