I am not sure what i do wrong but I have had extreme difficulty buying Microsoft product -specifically Office - online.

I bought Office online a couple of years ago. It is a version specific to Thailand or SE Asia as I recall, but it's totally in English. Had a problem one time and I called their helpline and they fixed the problem, also online. Other than that, I've never had a problem with it.

I think this is the site I used:  https://products.office.com/en-us/compare-all-microsoft-office-products?tab=1

Cost $149.99 for 1 time download, one user.

Can you say where I can buy Win10 for around 500baht?

Don't know where that poster got his, but I bought mine from a seller on eBay U.K. The shop had over 10,000 Positive feedback. When the license arrived, it was 100% genuine, original and not a color copy. It had the original Microsoft hologram on it. It was about £11 + post. The seller guaranteed it to be 100% genuine.

Buy a DOS Laptop. Go to next Banana IT Shop. They install W10, costs 500- 700 THB incl. OS.

The installing part is easy and free.

But the part that matters is getting an "activated" version, meaning one that's already been licensed or comes with a license code that you can enter.

Does the Banana IT version come activated or with a license code you can use? I'm guessing not.

I have activated versions on two of my computers and an unactivated version on one.  The only difference for me is the little printing in the bottom right about activation.  Everything else is the same.

I had a Thai shop at Fortune Town install an unactivated version on one of my PCs once after I lost the HD and they had to install a new one. Worked fine for the first month, but then the home screen background turned black and I kept getting nagging reminders that I had to activate or various things would stop working.

Extra problem was, my original install was the Home version, and the shop had installed an unlicensed Pro version. And when I finally realized what they had done, I couldn't simply use my Home license to activate their Pro version. I had to uninstall their Pro version and then install a fresh Home version myself in order to then use my own original Windows 10 license.

I formatted my HD and was using Linux when I downloaded and installed free Win 10 a couple of years ago.  Never had any problems.  Perhaps the shop did something.  I've never had any problems.  I think you are alone in the problems as I've never heard of any when downloaded from Microsoft.

No operating system beats win xp professional sp3.

Sure it's no longer supported but does all what I need it for: music + video editing, browsing. Never change a winning team. When I read all the probs with win 10 I can't help laughing. Security is no issue as I don't visit porn sites nor warez (seriously).

XP is a thing of the past! Get with the times.

I actually prefer to buy a pc without an OS

I hated having Microsoft's latest OS crammed down my throat in the US. I learned you cannot even down grade to Win 7 on a machine sold with Win 8 or later the bios blocks it.

why ? because microsoft forces you to do it ? :)

no way... I find XP the most userfriendly OS... don't care about the app looking crap from 8.1, notifications that show frequently and with 10 they really screwed it up. I am used to the folders in file manager and the simplicity of XP

After I upgraded from 7 to win 10 my computer asked me if I wanted to roll it back to 7.  The bios would not have blocked anything as far as I could see.  I've used XP, 7, 8 and 10.  Win 10 is a lot better for me.  I play games and am experimenting with VR in addition to the normal stuff.  I don't think they would run on anything except 7 and above.

I know, I have not updated my A+ status in many years. But I know i tried a clean install of win 7 on a laptop sold with win 8 a few years back. New hdd and it would not allow Win 7, if I recall kept getting a blue screen. It could have been the CMOS, but I know it could not be installed. I verified it with a repair shop. It worked fine when I reinstalled Win 8.

I waited a few years before upgrading from xp pro to Win 7 pro 64 bit. It's been a long time but I vaguely recall XP  was limited on RAM. I also preferred programs to apps. 55555. I still use Win 7 pro on my desktop but have 8.1 on my laptop. I prefer 7 personally.

I bought a new desktop recently and noticed same thing.  Bought Win10 CD and loaded it myself, activated, legit.  Actually prefer it this way here in Thailand as the techs seems to load all sorts of unnecessary, dodgy garbage at the same time, unless you are very specific and/or stand there and watch them.

Please tell me where? I've tried to activate my Windows 10 online via Microsoft Store, it says no payments outside the US accepted. The Thai store is all in Thai. Now I want to go and buy an original W10 disk here in BKK.
