Hello, does anybody know the current processing time at the Thai embassy in London for single entry tourist visas? My flight is booker for January 30 so I don't want the passport to be held up at the embassy or in the post.

My plan is a 60 day stay in Thailand, and then re-enter  for a 30 day visa on arrival and then extend it inside Thailand for another 30 days or leave again and re-enter.

Plan to return to UK around May or June and then apply for a METV.

Would the METV application be affected by the previous 60 day visa and re-entering the country? I see on the application, details of the last three visits must be given.

The other option is apply for a METV first, and return to UK around June and then use a standard tourist visa single entry if and when I need to return to Thailand.

Visa section is open 9 -12 5 days a week. If you go in person - get a wait ticket as soon as you go in and you should be seen within 30 mins max, Have your visa form correctly filled out , two passport photos and £25 fee and you will be given a receipt. You will then have to wait two days before picking it up from 11 - 12am. You may be able to have it posted back to you at some cost and I have seen agents handling bundles of passports so for a fee you would be able to get somebody to handle the process for you if required.

Mine are always back in the postal system 48 hours after receipt. Only once did it take a week after receipt in London. As regards previous visits I only put the last entry on the form itself.

Just received my latest SETV back with usual speedy service. No need either to pay the £10 fee for the special delivery return. Just buy the envelope yourself £6.30 ish and include.

I hate doing visa applications by post, but you should have your passport back within 10 days maximum. Bear in mind that there are honorary consulates in a number of locations where they will do a single entry tourist visa for you while you wait if you apply in person. Where do you live?
