The immigration Police because they felt it necessary to drag a few people in to question them

Have you taken a walk to the metro in Sukhumvit lately I bet you cant walk from one end to another without being propositioned by “men of colour” sad but true

Sad, yes but not in the sense you say and definitely not true.

I don’t see sense, just prejudice and bigotry.

In South Africa "Coloureds" are an ethnic group, one of four :- white/black/coloured/asian. Try telling a coloured that he/she is not coloured but black and you will very soon wish you hadn't. Coloured is what they are and what they are proud of being. You are as prissy in your ignorance as the git in the pub.

Nothing there justifies racial profiling.

No idea what goes on in a student bar, I don’t drink.

Why do you mention it?

Because that is where your opinions appear to have come from. Perhaps "an Islington coffee klatsch" or SWP meeting might be more appropriate.

I doubt I’ll have time to watch that.

You should find the time. It's narrated by a former head of The Commission for Racial Equality, in the UK,  Trevor Phillips.

It still won’t bring me to believe the racial profiling actions of the bib in this case were based in anything but prejudice and bigotry.

so 20% were guilty and the rest were freed after being checked…all tarred with the same brush maybe? If Britain and other European countries did this they wouldn’t have 250,000illegal immigrants!!

We'll pass the pun.

No in these circumstances it is common sense.

Black/coloured? I was once having a conversation in a London pub with a US gent, briefly mentioning South Africa I used the word coloureds. He was mightily offended until I was patient enough to educate him. Thick git.

Basil D'Oliveria he was a cape coloured as they were called, a good cricketer, a fine upstanding chap in the face of adversity and the actions of the Tossers at the MCC

“He said 30 racial minority men and women were taken for questioning”

That is detaining them.

please explain how I made the implications you accuse me of making.

I have from the start made clear that policing should be based on evidence, not bigotry and prejudice.

From the OP

" the operation that police sought criminals involved in romance scams and drugs trafficking. "

Now how many non racial minorities do you know are involved in romance scams ?

FYI when US police investigate KK Clan I doubt they target black people in their raids.

Investigate and arrest based on evidence by all means.

Stop, detain and question based on colour...no.

Why you didn't answer my question?

How many white people are involved in romance scams that you are aware of?

That's not the point I have been making.

I'm all for the bib investigating romance scams, they can hurt people.

What I am arguing is that stopping, detaining and questioning people on the basis of racial profiling is prejudicial.

And as a strategy for breaking up romance scams, nonsensical.

To answer your question a proper investigation would have to take place, that is not what this was.

They stopped people because of their colour.

Only 6 were arrested...none for romance scams...now, what does that tell us?

The joint operation by tourist police, 191 patrol and special operations police, immigration police and narcotics suppression police was led by Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau.

Joint? Druggies? And I thought the article was about dark skinned people who can't afford skin whitener. My fault, sorry.

If no white people are involved in romance scams, the why would police target white people in an operation, that is intended to find suspects involved in romance scams?

You are just creating an argument for the sake of having an argument or to increase your post count.

given another week ,the lot would have been arrested

Oh my, bob, lowering yourself to talk to me?

I thought, when you were unable to come up with a coherent argument, you said I was an idiot,.

I'm shocked you would disgrace your high intellect by bringing yourself down to my level...

I've checked and yes, it was post 131 [at least I thought that was your sentiment, the rest of the post being somewhat lacking in coherence]

Black is a color in absorbtive color spaces.

Black is the absence of color in emmissive color spaces.

So, as a technical point, you need to define your question. To which specific color space are you referring when you ask this?

And the world you live in is ? Which colour space ? ,  to use English
