Lost in Space was another one like that. Silly special effects, but fun with a good story.

I think we all loved the robot, as it waved it's arms around.

Dr Smith was a wonderful villain and they never learned he was a "bad egg".

One of my buddies claims that the guy who played Dr. Smith came on to him in a bar when he was a youngster and a good looking athlete. I'm pretty sure he is telling the truth. Nowadays, it is not really surprising.

The constant loop the news channels are on and the irritating graphics and background themes they use as fillers between the constant loops.

They spend almost as much time telling us how great they are as they do on the actual news.

The TV shows that spend a couple of minutes telling us what happened before the adverts were on. What sort of morons do they think we are, that can't remember something for a few minutes ?
It's really annoying.

Probably for those just tuning in.

Don't think so. IMO it's all about the money. Less actual show they have to make the less money they spend and more profit they make.

So, allow 10 to 15 minutes per hour for ads, 5 minutes for the intro, and 5 minutes for the "reminders", and that means they only have to make 35 or so minutes of actual show.

It's like boiling a frog by putting it in cold water and heating the water, we just haven't noticed because it's happened gradually. They even show ads just before the end of news opinion shows, then bring the presenter back just to say goodbye.

Good thing about recorders is that we can fast forward through all the ads now.

They seem to be running out of ideas these days !

Yep. I saw they want to make a "new" Magnum PI". These corporate slugs are evil <deleted>.

No doubt he'll be the PC version. Hawaii 5 0 even had McGarret and sidekicks looking after a ( shock and horror ) baby last Saturday. Just no hard men left on Hollywood entertainment.
