The poor and deaf Thai lady in the news last week after she received free dental treatment for protruding teeth had her new life confirmed yesterday.

Sanook reported that Wilai, 47, was unhappy staring at her old self on her Thai ID card and wanted a new one to celebrate her new found confidence and happiness.

Her family has been helped by the district authorities in Bua Yai of Nakorn Ratchasima where dentists chipped in to give her a sparkling new set of gnashers.

Improvements have also been made to the family's dilapidated accommodation in Nong Jaeng Yai sub-district.

Amid all the negative and “fake news” around, this one shines. Good luck to you and glad you can feel better about yourself and now city hall steps in and does the right thing to help you feel better about yourself. Next step a Cochlear implant? How to get some crowdfunding together to help this poor lass some more? Now wouldn’t that be great!
