BANGKOK, 19th February 2018 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is pleased with the latest report that Thailand is ranked the world’s least miserable economy this year for the fourth consecutive year.

Conveying Gen Prayut’s messages, Government Spokesperson Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the prime minister is happy with the latest ranking of Thailand in Bloomberg’s Misery Index 2018 which indicated that Thailand is the happiest economy among 66 countries surveyed.

The index takes into consideration inflation and unemployment rates which Bloomberg believes generally illustrate how good an economy’s residents feel about life.

Thailand this year scored 2.5, thanks to low inflation and the low unemployment rate.

Lt Gen Sansern said the survey coincides with a central bank report that Thailand’s inflation rate stands at 0.66% and the unemployment rate is as low as 1.3%.

The spokesperson attributed these figures to the government’s economic measures, resulting in the stabilization of the grassroots economy and an improvement in people’s living standards.

Bloomberg ranked Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, and Taiwan among the happiest after Thailand, and ranked Venezuela the most miserable economy 4 years in a row.

Just goes to show ... the nayers have been wrong every time about Thailand and this government. They are creating jobs through many projects being implemented. They are assisting the poor rural farmers with free land, financial assistance programs and many other farming programs.

Good job Khun Prayut Chan O Cha and this government.
