Camera Shops In Bkk

Featured Replies

Hey everybody...

Are there any camera shops here that carry Minolta items? I'm looking for new or used Minolta lenses...

I've looked through the posts here and couldn't find what I was looking for. All the online shops seem to sell mostly Canon and Nikon items, but not Minolta. =/

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

There are two old camera shops (analog cameras) that I am aware of:

- Silom Complex (3rd or 4th floor, I believe)

- Petchburi Rd. (South Side, near Soi 10)

I am not sure about Minolta, but they both have a wide selection (and probably good for referrals as well).

S. P. Camera on 3rd. floor at MBK carry a good range of Sigma lenses so you'd probably get Minolta "Fit."

They also advertise Minolta aswell as most well known brands on their carry bags so give them a try.

Correction on a typo - Petchburi Rd. (South Side near Soi 18 [not Soi 10]).

Sorry

Buy any Sony lens for Alpha series. Name Alpha comes from the Alpha mount used on Konica Minolta SLR cameras. So KM Maxxum series have exactly the same mount as the new Sony Alpha. This gives you entire arsenal of Zeiss lens to choose among.

i have the sony a100 with the 18-70mm kit lens, but wanted to find some used minolta lenses to cover more focal range...the sony lenses are WAY too expensive!

hopefully i'll be able to check out those stores you guys mentioned by the end of this week...i can't wait...

thanks again guys

Before buying the Sony lenses, do make sure they have the coverage for a full frame 35mm.

Many new cameras/lenses today use the smaller format and may vignette on the full size.

I too have a Minolta - good lenses are hard to come by. There is a guy in Pirom Plaza (opposite Merry King on Thanon Maha Chai - edge of China Town) who seems to specialise in the Alpha mount. I also check teh 2nd hand/Pawn shops whenever I see one - lots of kit lenses but ocassionally interesting ones - I picked up a 50mm f1.4 for 2000 baht - e-bay in England around 10,000 baht.
