Army chief General Chalermchai Sitthisart was among senior military officials undergoing a rigorous fitness test at Royal Thai Army headquarters in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Chalermchai and his deputy, General Sasin Thongpakdee, and assistant, General Weerachai Intusophon, were required to do series of two-minute push-ups and two-minute sit-ups as well as a two-kilometre run.

The testing to assess stamina and strength is held twice a year, in February and August. Officers must complete at least half the programme.

He tried a few sit ups, but his heavy expensive watch got in the way.:cheesy:

ummm, I think it was ballast in his favour

but I can't see the full picture, and it looks to me he's doing it the bad-for-the-back way...

If I was him, I'd have court martialled the dude who appears to be holding his ankles down

but then it is in their nature to do things the lazy way, and that method gives a false sense of achievement, and as mentioned... damages the lower back from all that focussed stress that should have been shared by a wider combo of leg and back muscles

... put him on the long term medical 'watch'list

Please don't speak disparagingly about him. Here is evidence of him in peak condition in his combat camouflage gear complete with oversize officer's swagger stick.

"Watch" it, the sleeves are loooong enough to cover his hands
