Food security report points to increasing malnourishment and obesity in Thailand

Experts and academics yesterday gather at the food security forum hosted by the BioThai Foundation.

 

MORE THAN 815 million people around the world still suffer from malnutrition and hunger – 6.5 million in Thailand – but on the other hand 25 per cent of the population in developed countries were obese, including 5 million in Thailand, pointing to glaring inequalities in access to food.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Martin Shkreli, the former drug company executive who made headlines by jacking up the price of a lifesaving drug before he was found guilty of defrauding investors, was sentenced to 7 years and a $75,000 fine on Friday.

SALISBURY, England (Reuters) - Britain deployed specialist troops on Friday to remove potentially contaminated objects from the English city where a Russian former double agent and his daughter were poisoned with a nerve agent.

Mauritius president to resign after credit card expenditure row

 

PORT LOUIS (Reuters) - Mauritian President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim will step down next week, the prime minister said on Friday, after she was accused of using a credit card issued by an international non-governmental organisation to buy clothes and jewellery.

Gunman takes hostages after shots fired at California veterans home
