PHUKET: Police in Phuket together with members of the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand in Bangkok are now investigating into the light aircraft crash in Pa Khlok this morning which left two people dead and another two people seriously injured.

A report which has been sent to The Phuket News from Deputy Chief of the Thalang Police Lt Col Amnuay Kraiwuttianan, who is currently acting as Thalang Police Chief, has also been sent to Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon and others high ranking officers in the Royal Thai Police.

Capt Nattee Pichitchainitimet of the Thalang Police, who was notified of the accident at 10:10am today, earlier confirmed that it was an aircraft captain and a specialist instructor from the Thalang Technical college who died in the incident and that it was two students from the Thalang Technical College’s Aviation Maintenance Department who sustained serious injuries when the light aircraft crashed on a plot of land in Pa Khlok near the Phuket Airpark earlier today (Mar 10).

Did you mean Air Brake Failure ?

2 people die and you find it amusing? Sad or what?

It looks like a private small aircraft. whether it was technical or mechanical failure, will take

a while unless the survivors can describe what happened. Nothing to make stupid, uncaring comments at, but what can be said of some commenters.

There is no civil aviation authority to investigate this type of event?

Who licences the planes and pilots?

There is an ‘authority’ here, but I think it is mainly a building where coffee and chats occur. Airline standards here are (or at least were) lowered so a pass can be achieved with little to no criticism or further training given once command gained. The fragile ego could not be threatened, as most of the time it was the only thing that performed at all. A commercial cockpit relies upon a ‘challenge and response’ environment to operate safely. The culture in this part of the world hardly encourages that and it was something I never saw. I find it hard to imagine that light aircraft training or ops don’t follow a similar pattern.

One of my favourite entries in a student pilot record file...’this student sets a very low standard they consistently fail to acheive’
