A friend of mine asked me to bring his 6 month's supply of medication[no tranquilisers/no painkillers;8 different kinds:heart tablets, gout tablets, doac.'s,proton pump inhibitors, for a total price of around 40.000 baht] accompagnied by an affidavit,a copy of the doctor's prescription and a letter from the pharmacy to thailand. would there be a problem?

If found by customs, yes, it will be a problem.

You are allowed to bring in only 30 day supply of medication for your own personal use...not medications for someone else and not a 6 month supply.

The type of medications mentioned can all be bought over the counter here and most are quite cheap, why on earth does he want to bring in a supply from abroad?

For what its worth Sheryl, when I go back to Oz every 18 months, I buy my prescription drugs for under $7AUS or 168 baht per packet of 30 tablets.

My recent enquiries are continuing with regard to purchasing other "family" member alternative drugs here as airfares and accommodation increase Vs purchasing them here.

The government back in Oz under the PBS system subsidies the costs, otherwise I would be paying $60AUS in Oz without the PBS system, this could be a reason he gets them from overseas, like I said, I am currently looking into the "family" member alternative drugs you suggested the other day, just have to get the all clear from my Cardiologist back home and price them here.
