Bullying or just desserts? Court of social media divided on child thieves' temple punishment

Featured Replies

Opinion seems divided on giving kids a beating versus a rollocking for stealing so why not widen the view to take in other 'crimes'.

Being cheeky?  One whack ?  Coming home late 2.  Not done homework 3. Getting shagged or shagging 5.

Kids on motorbikes:  No helmet - one whack (only endangering themselves anyway) Speeding.  20 whacks?  What about running a red light - which is certainly more of a crime than pinching if you consider it 'endangering the lives of others' - shirt off, 50 whacks across the back at the roadside in full view of others.  Drink driving ? Drink driving and causing an accident? Not long before we reach the death penalty.

K'it. Whack em for everything, they're bound to grow into stand-up well-behaved citizens. As my old man used to say - that one was for nothing, wait till you do something.

It’s neither.    It’s violent, criminal assault.    Gaol those responsible.

  • ...I can only speak for myself, and if it were my boy , I would be in the middle taking the beating with him...because someone is failing these boys on a huge level...

Kids like this should be disciplined...but it is a little bit of a moot point when the clergy here are always in the news for so many greater misdeeds. Thai society needs to have a good long look in the mirror.
