Education Ministry to create central database for ONET examination

The Minister of Education has instructed the deputy permanent secretary of education to coordinate with relevant agencies in establishing a central database for students undergoing their ONET examinations.

The Minister of Education, Prof Dr. Wichit Sri-arn (วิจิตร ศรีสอ้าน), revealed that the director of the National Institute of Educational Testing Service and delegates have met with him to discuss difficulties concerning the Ordinary National Education Test (ONET) system. The NIETS delegates report that the majority of academic institutes have reported problems with standardizing and collecting data for examination candidates, resulting in incorrect information.

The Minister of Eduction has therefore instructed the deputy permanent secretary of education, Mr. Chinapat Phumirat (ชินภัทร ภูมิรัตน), to coordinate with the Office of the Basic Education Commission and the Vocational Education Commission to establish a standardized central database to collect information for ONET examination candidates in order to reduce problems in future examination rounds.
