UK divorce document for Thai needs legalising?

Featured Replies

Today I went to UK embassy and the MFA to get affirmation to marry.

All done but some confusion and conflicting info about getting married here now.

I have both mine and partner's UK divorce certificates, along with the affirmation to marry so we have all we need, or so I thought.

We were told today by someone that we may need Thai partners UK divorce document legalised and certified by Thai embassy in UK? That's not possible now.

I have not seen this anywhere on internet before and all sources up to now stated UK divorce documents valid in Thailand.

We even spoke to an Amphur 2 weeks ago before leaving UK and no mention that the document needed "legalising"

Any advice welcome.
