I have achieved to register with Chula Hospital. With help I managed to see a specialist (dermatologist) at the time. In order to get a queue ticket and to eventually get to see a doc it took 2 very long visits over 2 days. Arrived 2pm for the ticket and got told at 5pm to come back the following day.

Now I have an eye issue (blocked tear duct). Is there a way to see a doctor without hours of waiting to get a queue ticket, then get another paper before I can join a 3rd queue in the hope to see a doc the same day?

I saw a specialist at Rutnin Eye Hospital. I was no wiser about my problem when I walked out. Decided to try Chula. Or does have anybody have a recommendation?

Tks.

Not sure what the problem at Rutnin was as that has some of the best doctors in Thailand and queue time is normally not that long.  But as with most doctors you should ask questions here if you want details.  Chula is a government hospital so any doctor visit during normal operation will be very time consuming with very limited time with actual doctor.  They have a pay for service night clinic but not sure if it covers what you need - but queue times would be much reduced if they do.  Any private hospital would be able to provide doctors with little or no queue wait if financials are not a major factor.

Chula has an "after hours" clinic in the evenings and on weekends where you can see specialists by appointment. It is on the 13th floor of the main OPD building.  Go up there around 3:30 PM (or on a Staurday and Sunday) and talk to the nurse to make appointment.

If you can indicate what sort of eye problem I might be able to suggest a specific doctor..

It is a blocked/semi blocked tear duct.

I had tried the after hrs clinic on 13fl. But was sent back down to GF.

I'm not going to Chula to get cheaper treatment but to get  hopefully competent advise. Rutnin did not impress me at all. Also waiting is not the big issue.

I don't understand the part about "sent back down to GF". What exactly did they say when you asked to make appointment in the 13th floor? What time did you go there?

At Chula I would suggest Dr. Vannakorn Pruksakorn or Dr. Suppapong Tirakunwichcha

And which doctor did you see at Rutnin? You need a specialist  in lacrimal system, there are only 3 of them there. I have had positive feedback on this one  http://www.rutnin.com/en/doctor/detail.11.1_Search by name_13_0.html#thumb

This doctor at Bumrungrad is also very good

Tks for replying.

I went to 13th fl. around 4pm weekday. I asked for dermatologist appointment but was told "appointment downstairs". Then the queueing for red and later green nos. started over 2 days. Did get to see a dermatologist and I was happy with the treatment.

At Rutnin I saw a Dr. Panitee Luermsamran. She spoke poor English and didn't have much to say but "need op.". No comment about first to investigate cause of blockage. Tearing is sometimes no problem, then suddenly it "floods" and infection sets in. She wasn't interested.

Bumrungrad is not "my cup of tea".

Will visit Chula with the 2 names you suggested. Hopefully, I can see one of the 2 doctors.

Many thanks.
