I beleive the reason for failure may be contrived a little (I have no proof just what I beleive) as the true reason imay be hidden. For me that is how it seemed when I got refused and I did write a letter to the embassy from the UK asking how it was possible to fail for the stated reason. I received a reply which encouraged me to apply again. Visa applications are all very differrent and you have to do what is right for your application. But, I feel that being married is a big help in most cases.

But, I feel that being married is a big help in most cases. ECOs don't need to "hide" the reason for refusal. It is normally as plain as day in the refusal letter. Yes I agree that all applications are different but being married can be a hindrance to getting a visit visa if UKVI think you are trying to circumvent the settlement process. 1
