BANGKOK — Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan is on leave after undergoing heart surgery, a department spokesman said Thursday. Maj. Gen. Kongcheep Tantravanich, defense ministry spokesman, said that Gen. Prawit, who is also a top junta official, is absent from the office for personal reasons after a coronary bypass. Its rather a win win. he can still exert influence behind the scenes, the thorn is out of the army's, junta's, government's side. i do hope he has made plans to dispose of the watches should he perish on the table. I suspect he diplomatically organised the invitation for himself to visit the USA. No doubt he pre-arranged his own hospitalization for the operation.
