Hello All, for those that have seen some of my posts and pic's, some times I show a pic

of a magazine cover, a Thai Ag Mag. Was "House" and now "Home Agricultural Magazine",

Hello All, went to the Korat show today, not everything was set up, a lot of changes from past shows.

A lot more goats and woolie bugers and a chicken bigger that cornish carlos turkey(Lady Duck thread).

Rice mills, chippers, rototillers, big tractors, cows weren't there yet, fighting birds and all the fruit trees

and plants, some shrooms and strawberry plants.

The garden area is a lot different, and mucho Mex chilies.

The Builders Merchants in Buriram who provide my wife with a Franklin Schafer well pump and Netafim Irrigation for her village vegetable garden are holding a five day "Buriram Home & Garden Expo" starting next Friday February 13th. The Thai Chinese owner, Mr. Pichai speaks English as well as Thai. He told me he will have many agricultural farming machines on display in various vendor booths, including English speaking staff of Netafim drip irrigation, Briggs & Stratton, Honda Power Products, Makita Tools and Garden products, Kwai Thong Farming Products, and some Chinese brands I was unfamiliar with. He also has typical Expo vendors such as water tanks, floor tile companies, power tool companies including Milwaukee Power Tools. Of note to me was how many managing directors and regional sales directors had confirmed attendance for one or more days in Buriram. There must be an sporting event or racing event to bring the CEO of Hitachi Power Tools to Buriram on a Friday for a builders merchants expo sale. Mr. Pichai told me he is making a major drive to have more solar installations for Thai farmers and for expats who have paid for land for a Thai spouse that did not have cost effective options from the PEA electric service to power water pumps. He will not have large tractors or fertilizers on display or for sale as he is the commercial landlord and not operator for several of those sort of farming business ventures in Buriram. Roma Pizza Italian Restaurant will be closed from February 13th through February 17th to cook and serve free pizza at the rear of Ruangsangthai near the Netafim irrigation display to Thai and expat guests of this exposition in Buriram on the Buriram - Phutthaisong Highway 2074, about five minutes from the Buriram Private Hospital.

Sorry, somehow didn't get the lifter pic attached.

rice555

Hi rice555,

Did you see any soil sampling being done or kits available.

I didn't notice any, the show that CLW posted the date info, the post above your post

has had test kits for sale at the show and the school also does soil testing. At one time,

La Mote(forget the name) had a place in BKK you could by them. Simple pH, NPK and

more advanced field/lab kits.

Drtreelove posted where you could send samples to the US for testing and evaluation

and how to improve your soil.

Some of this info is in one of the OG threads about soil testing.

KASETSRAT AGRICULTURAL FAIR 2016

Does anyone know the dates of the big Kasetsart Agricultural Fair for 2016. There are usually two fairs covering the two campuses. The fair at the Bang Kaen campus appeared to be smaller than the Kamphaeng Saen Campus. I was lucky to buy some rabbits from the Kasetsart Fair at Kamphaeng Saen campus a few years back. Would like to visit again in 2016 but there never seems to be promotion of the fair in mainstream English media here.

NATIONAL GOAT FAIR

I was also luck to attend a Goat Fair about an hours drive from Bangkok a few years back and it was really interesting. Unfortunately I have no idea where that fair was. Does anyone know of a National Goat Fair planned for 2016?

PYGMY GOATS FROM LAOS?

Does anyone know where I can buy Pygmy Goats from? I have been scouting for four goats for several years now and without success. I spotted 3 pygmy goats, no taller than 40cm walking along the side of the street in Ubon Ratchathani, near Khon Chiam, and tracked down the owner. I offered to pay a whopping THB 10,000 a goat but the owner said he would not sell his prized and rare goats that had come from Loas. And yeas, may folk have tried to sell me young goats saying they are adults and won't grown taller. But luckily I am not that dumb.

Bangkhen Fair 29 January to 7 February

Size I assume is similar. Visited both, and the Kampeang Saen Campus seems not so packed but the no. of vendors is equal IMHO

They had goats and sheep at the Korat Show, don't know if they had pygmy's. Another place to look is the Thai anmial

mag's, seen goats on the cover several times.

Here's a map of the show, from my pic's of the show I've posted, the one of the car park, that is the one in the bottom L/H

corner. From the second map pic, across the road and down from the cow's is where they have goats/sheep. On the R/H

side of the same cutout is a red arrow and a dog pic, at the bottom of the stairs R/H side the also had goats and sheep.
