Please do not be silly, people,
Sex drugs are NOT legal without a scrip. The fact that you can buy them OTC at many pharmacies or on the street does not change the legality of having them in your possession without a prescription. A perfect reason for PoPo to selectively enforce a little used law.
In Thailand, you say?
Please, in what way does paying for sex make it illegal? Can't believe you are asking that.
From an incident in 2009:

"He is under interrogation, but has been charged with procurement and commercial sex advertisements, which could land him 10 years jail term or a fine of up to 20 000 baht ($570)," Archayon told AFP.

The 22 participants from Thailand, China, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, France, the United States and Australia were all released after paying fines of up to 1 000 baht, Archayon added."

Not saying you are wrong about the laws on the sex drugs, but it seems that that didn't come into play when they were all fined the same 1,000 baht.

Unless they were all in possession of them which I strongly doubt.

Nor that it was illegal to have sex without a licence. Next time the wife feels horny, I will complete a SEX30 form and submit it to immigration for approval.

I doubt that the orgy was the main problem, more likely it was the idiots that brought drugs onto the scene, including the hotel owner who was cashing in on it.

I have thought about organising an orgy with friends discretely at my home, problem is, my friends are all old and ugly.

And what about your appeal to the others, mate?

Yeah I get the hotel thing and drugs (questionable) but this was a serious raid for NOTHING.      Forgive them lord as they do not understand..  (or have a clue)  Mathew 4.14 25.

"used condoms found in the trash were taken as evidence"

What? No pictures of BiB's standing around a waste bin, pointing fingers and looking stern?

That was the line that caught my attention quandow ,  will they be able to pin the condoms on the previous owner/user ?  Sounds a bit like pinning the tail on the donkey.

Evidence indeed ........I wonder if the condoms will stand up in court.

What is the problem?  Thailand has been known as the sex capital of the world for at least 50 years that I know of, so why is an orgy a problem???  I guess they did not invite the police and that pissed them off.

So a couple of Viagra becomes a "drug fuelled" sex party....unbelievable.

Also it seems the message is that killing scores of people on the roads daily is more acceptable than scores of people having a bit of harmless fun privately behind closed doors.  Thailand moving rapidly backwards!

I personally know people who attended.  There was no "1500 baht ADMISSION" ... it was 1500 baht to share in the cost of the room.  And unless someone personally brought drugs, there were no drugs involved.  This was a group of "likeminded" people having a get together at a resort well-known and advertised as a couples-only, lifestyle resort.  Many of you know this place; I don't have to name it.

What anyone does behind closed doors is their own business, unless there is some morality law here I'm unaware of.  This resort rents out large rooms for parties; it's no secret what goes on there.  No prostitution was taking place, no underage girls, no gambling, no visa overstayers.  If any drugs were "found", it was probably in someone's purse or overnight bag; certainly not out in the open, as is implied.   Regardless, this is a raid that by all accounts should never have happened.  Just a lot of consenting adults, both foreign and Thai, being shook down for no reason, and charged with whatever will save face for the police and military.

My theory:  A rival business owner, with a grudge against this resort's management, falsely reported to police that drugs, prostitution, and other laws were being broken.

Note: this is at least the second raid that I know of since this resort re-opened in Pattaya not too long ago.  Whoever is responsible for the raids is getting his/her money's worth, because people will begin staying away from this place.  And it's a shame, because it was a great place!

If what you say is correct, then it explains something that had puzzled me.  I noticed that many of the men were very protective towards the ladies they were seemingly with.  If it was bought sex then there was no reason for that.  Thank you.

I would get a lawyer and sue the RTP/media for plastering my naked butt and face all over the interweb.

Isn't this against the Computer Crimes Act? And a severe invasion of privacy?
