He said the government should also provide Thai consumers with healthy alternatives. For example, the government may offer tax incentives to entrepreneurs who produce healthier choices such as food with less sodium, fat or sugar.

Or e-sigarrettes instead of normal ones?

Yes, but there's a seemingly unlimited budget for new jets, tanks, ships, etc etc. and a variety of other multi billion baht boondoggles. And no one's calling for co-payments from the users of those g

Providing a social healthcare system is very expensive and Thailand is not insulated from the increasing costs of providing healthcare (approx 4%/year) nor increases in demand. Every western nation is also facing the same challenges so I am not surprised that Thailand is seeking to modify their scheme in the hope it will remain viable in the long-term

Does not look fair to me as the normal people light blue pay around 470bt per month into the system. So they get less out of it than what they put into it. They put around 6000 bt in it. The same goes for civil servants the pay that amount too.. so the other 6000 is subsidized by the state and in part by people who overpay (the light blue). The other people don't pay anything but get benefits, so the ones who are screwed the most are the normal salary workers who actually either finance the poor or the civil servants.

As i have often said its the people on legal wages that get screwed the most in Thailand.

Looking at the amounts paid on those three healthcare schemes.. why don't they make a fourth one for the farangs where we can put in 75.000 or so and be insured. Though it might not be enough with all the old foreigners. Maybe if it was forced on all foreigners would it be enough.

Talking about long term foreigners here that are not already insured.
