Private donations and help from government officials have started to pour in for a man who had to quit his job to take care of his wife who is suffering from terminal stage lymphoma in Amnart Charoen's Senang Khanikom district.

The man, Pateprasert Wannakan, 28, asked on Facebook for help as he could not afford to refill the oxygen tank for his bed-ridden wife, Sasimaporn Boontho.

He said he had to leave his job to take care of Sasimaporn and their 10-year-old son so he could not afford the expense.

The post showed the skeletal Sasimaporn and promised to care for her until she died. They have been married for 13 years.

Following the post, the man said he received donations for over Bt100,000.

On Tuesday, the provincial and district hospitals jointly installed an oxygen-making machine.

Doctors from the two hospitals said she was in a stable condition and would continue to need oxygen.

Suksomruay Wanthaneeyakul, an adviser for the Amnart Charoen reporters' association, also visited the family on Tuesday and provided them some necessities and money.

Three words, universal health care

They have the 40B scheme,  I dont think the issue is with her medical care, but more about he's not working to take care of her,  so no money coming in.
