May 2, 20187 yr " I see recent reports of bull sharks at Hua Hin " Yes, there have been quite a few bull sharks in the Chumpon Pinnacle area also, for many years already. And there are of course the usual reefsharks, leopard sharks, bamboo sharks, and whale sharks as well. I also recall reading somewhere about a tiger shark in Thai waters, but have never seen one or encountered somebody who has.
September 22, 20187 yr And not all sharks are dangerous... Have a few pics I took of a shark sleeping under coral.
August 23, 20241 yr Popular Post Of course there are sharks. The world's oceans are all joined. There are no borders. Sharks don't need visas. They don't even have passports. 😂

August 23, 20241 yr Author There aren't many sharks around Thailand, certainly large ones and aggressive species rare...I suspect because they had been over fished.... but by all accounts making a comeback here and there. Usually small reef sharks that bit someone accidentally over the last few years and authorities always quick to pass it off as some other mishap (misunderstanding?)

August 23, 20241 yr There are actually a number of species. I've see blacktips a few times, and a leopard shark while diving. There's a full list that notes spcies, location and history of attacks here: https://www.thethailandlife.com/sharks-thailand Don't be worried though; incidents are rare.
