Police in Nakhorn Panom are hunting a Thai woman who went into the house of an 87 year old woman and stole 9,500 baht.

She pretended to be a friend of the confused old lady before rifling through her possessions.

She stole the money from a bag then fled on a motorcycle.

Fortunately an 11 year old granddaughter of the victim happened to be using a phone to make a video at the time and she caught an image of the person responsible that may help the police catch her.

Joom Sankhacha, 87, is the mother of the Sri Songkhram sub-district chief Akkraphon Sankhacha who filed a police report on her behalf.

Police said that it was the second similar theft in the area in recent months. In the other 60,000 baht and seven baht weight of gold (worth approximately 140,000) baht was taken.
