They never learn...  'ex-hooker'  just DON'T DO IT Thais just don't have the same ethical system (i.e. they don't have one) as the West so don't take the chance!  easy!

Interesting dilemma when barlady customers talking about the ethicals of barladies,,,,,,,,,,, and the ethics of a western barcustomer visa versa barladies.

OMFG get real

I think they are both already married.

What would be your estimate of the number of Thai girls that tick all those boxes, and are single, and would have a relationship with a westerner ?

Bangkok is full of them...Pattaya? Definitely not...

I can’t see how that question is even relevant.

The point being that there probably isn't many, very easy to make a broad sweeping statement, just go and get yourself one of the many Thai girls with 6 figure incomes, that own property, have lived overseas.

Just go and find yourself one of those doctors that speak 5 languages.

I lost also but not much.  I count myself as one of the lucky ones who managed to survive the experience of Thailand.

Good way to describe youself.

You are a survivor......

Was the front door bolted from the inside or was it one of those push button locks , which you press on the way out ?

Also , it would have been quite easy for the wife to arrange a meeting with a mutual friend to discuss the situation .

The mutual friend visits , suggests a drink /smoke on the balcony , a hefty shove and goodbye

I live in the same condo complex; the doors have push button locks, so you can push the button before leaving the room and the door is locked when go outside the room and close it.

Cleaning and ironing does pay the bills, traditional family life in Thailand is very cheap. I’ve lived in the sticks, I know. But minimal wage jobs don’t allow thai girls to buy the latest phones, bikes, drink/party/smoke or feed a drug habit...I’d have the things I want if I robbed a bank and got away with it, but I choose not to, and make do with what my average salary affords me...Many Thais want it, and they want it now. That’s what motivates many bargirls, not the burden of a peasant family...

And your salary is poverty level?

I do not know all of the circumstances of his marriage. But, I do know certain principals apply here, in general. I have said it before, and I will say it again. It cannot be said often enough.

The biggest part of the problem here, is the extreme emasculation that is taking place in the West. Most men, in the US, Europe, and Oz, are no longer real men, when it comes to dealing with their women. Their women have made their lives so difficult, and alot of women have gotten so far away from their innate femininity, and have become dominant, and super controlling, and men just go along with it. Most men have become so hungry for love, or emotionally desperate for some kindness, and TLC. And most are so desirous of being around a real woman, who knows how to act like a woman, and manifest the dignity, within femininity. So, it is easy for the con artists, like this worm Jariyaporn, to take advantage of emotionally wounded men, who seem to be willing to do anything to regain a semblance of normality in their lives, with a decent woman.

The bottom line is this. Take your time getting to know a woman here, or anywhere. Time is your ally. It is rarely their ally. They are usually trying to step up the timetable. We need to push back. We need to assert control. An environment like this allows us to do so. Take advantage of that. Be a man. Step up. Pay tribute to the gender. Refuse to lay down anymore. Refuse to be a doormat. Refuse to check your cajones at the door. Start making the decisions, and stop saying "honey what do you want?". "What will make you happy?" "Where do you want to eat?" I have so many friends, who come here, and from the very start, make the same mistakes they made back in the West. Except here, they do not need to make those mistakes. The environment does not dictate that they behave like lambs. Many do not know, or realize that, or they succumb to "force of habit". Every ship needs a captain. If the man is not willing to be the captain of the ship, the woman will take over, here in Thailand. Most women here seem to want a strong man. But, if they end up with a wimp, they will take charge. Someone has to.

Always remember, if it is good, it is only going to get better. If there are problems, or if she is a big baby, who only looks like a real woman, but in reality is a 13 year old, or if she is a con artist, if she is only in it for the money, those realizations will manifest themselves over time. Time allows clarity. Never, ever move too quickly. That is the undoing of most of these guys. Be like Bond. be a real man. Man up. Do yourself proud.

You make a few good points.  I don't know if it is emasculation or simple immaturity, caused by lack of life hardening- and I'm not talking about the macho Bond stuff, but the grounding life gives you from personal illness/injury, parents dying, just having to slog it out for a couple of decades to bring up kids. Anyway, you are absolutely right: guys arrive here in what might be called a vulnerable state, and with lack of experience regarding women.

Surely the biggest factor in all of this is age difference!

I doubt it was murder: physical anyway!  Poor soul!  Truly tragic end.

Thai divorce law is very specific, all marital assets (acquired during marriage) are divide 50/50, its pretty straight forward, you keep what you had prior and split what was acquired during the marriage. Its barstool gossip that the thai woman keeps it all, it was a gift etc.

Which country do you think you are living in? This is Thailand and you are foreigner with very few rights and priviliges. As soon as you understand that Thailand is for Thais, life will make more sense. You have to lose this stupid falang  idea of "entitlement". I am "entitled" to this, I'm "entitled" to that. Thinking like that can get yourself into serious problems and worst killed. You may think this is barstool gossip but there is plenty of evidence of people who thought they were "entitled" and lost everything. Obviously you haven't heard the laws of defamation in Thailand and how they are used against foreigners.

I’m sure there are quality people in every age range. But maybe you’re right; I’m mid 30ies so I can’t tell.

But even if; it doesn’t change what I said: Don’t engage with a hooker or other sorts of low lifes. Unless someone has dementia, he should still be able to get that even at the age of 70. Why would someone with that much life experience make such a big mistake?

I think at age 60 up, maybe earlier, real options aren't there- you either take what is given or go without.

Also, most of the bargirls aren't obviously hookers; they can be comely, don't smoke, and often don't drink.  I'm afraid this poor guy made a disastrous choice, but perhaps it wasn't clear cut at the time.  And everyone takes the wrong turning some time.

How many divorces have you been through ?? 50/50 with any half decent lawyer..

The guys that lose everything, are the ones that believe people like you. They just don't bother going through the courts because "Thailand is for Thais" :)

When will these guys relize that this here is Alice in wonderland dream, probably 3% of relationships are real here in Thailand. Buy sex, don't rent love because its fake

I don't have the patience to read what I am sure will be a record number of responses ....99% of them

remarking in one way or another on the lack of good judgement by countless loveseeking farangs.

80% of them will probably be spot on.  And I wonder how many (50%?) of these respondents follow the

experience/ advice given here.   talk the talk ?   or walk the walk ?

Please...no I'm happy as hell with my gf stories ......   but if you are choke dee  !!

sure if the lady brings her own money to the table and puts up her own 50% works a good job. You buy a condo together just like in the West.

However buy a prostitute a house in her name like many do you can kiss that house good bye.

People like me don't get legally married. Smart people keep minimal assets in Thailand which are registered in their own names. Most of their money is kept offshore in reputable countries, such as Singapore, that cannot be touched by Thais. All successful divorces I know of were done the Thai way not through a lawyer. Don't bother asking how its done the "Thai way", you have find that out by yourself.

Or how about have her buy it herself with her own money and help out every month with expenses.

Reading all this makes me realize I am lucky.

PS: If you guys must get married get a prenup......

The question is, would a farang woman to that to you? Split 50/50. :passifier:

Still in farang land, the man make more money, and put more money and investments in to the relationships. Very very rear a farang woman find a man below her rank. Of course you have everything a woman looking for, sweettalking your ass off, you will manage to do it. But most men like that, is the same caracter you or we should stay away from here in Thailand.

I'm gonna pick murdered, as he had an impending court case, whatever the outcome, he had some hope, so unlikely to jump at that time.

I personally know of a similar case whereby following some good legal advice the guy got everything back, however he had a thai child from a previous relationship, which proved to be the winning hand.

The one who was trying to rip him off did have her brother try to kill him though which regardless of what people say on here does seem to be the modus operandi in Thailand.

The lack of understanding that murder can lead to a lifetime of regret seems to be prevalent when the police are quick to close down anything without a thorough investigation which seems to be a uniquely Thai thing.

No chance of farangs dating and marrying a prostitute in the west yet they line up to do it here .So many guys are so lonely they will scrape the bottom of the barrel and no surprise he is now murdered when the cash flow stopped.

N-E-X-T :coffee1:

It's probably because hookers in the west are scabby meth users (and the rest of the white women I met weren't much more attractive).

The Thai (and rest of SEA) hookers I've encountered have been universally pleasant, slim and attractive.

In fact, nearly all the hookers I've employed in Asia were much nicer and better company for me than my former English wife of 30 years who supposedly 'loved' me. Mr. 68, if still alive would probably agree with me, even if it ended badly.

Like I said: Even if it was true that these girls do not exist, it certainly wouldn’t make me lower my standards. Heck, i cannot even understand how someone actually can fall in love or feel something (more than pure sexual) for such girl. Just seeing how these bargirls dress and behave; all the ugly tattoos; the big mouths; the shabby clothes; the low level of education — how does that work? Maybe you’re lonely at that age, sure, but feelings and love require attraction, and how can you be attracted to such girl?

Nah, come on. How can it not be “clear cut”? It’s not about smoking and drinking. The way she dresses; the way she speaks; her command of English; the tattoos; where she works; how she lives; what she owns; her family background; her friends; etc. You wanna tell me all that can be faked? One must be blind to not being able to tell.

i think more of us than want to admit WERE blind.  This was not a new "neighborhood" we were moving to...it was a whole new world !   I learned lessons the hard way.  It is the people that don't learn because they are too stubborn or too scared or too stupid that do not improve their situation over time and experience.

I don’t understand what the one has to do with the other. Even in a “whole new world” you have two eyes to see all those things I mentioned above, don’t you? How can a new world turn you blind on both eyes?

Love makes people blind sometimes. But how can fall in love with a bargirl in the first place?

I can think of some quite high ranking Thais, that appear to have a dodgy family background.

Even Prime Minister YingLuck was an unmarried mother, and some of her family members convicted criminals on the run from the police.

I agree, I'm not keen on tattoos, but plenty of unmarked working girls (probably the majority) around.

Off topic,

It's actually welfare, the laws, the courts and the police causing the problems.

Can't really blame the women for taking advantage of those, I would if the situation were reversed.
