Hi,

i'm a Brit who's entered Thailand on entry stamps (flew in) on three occasions and i extended a 30 day entry stamp at Chang Wattana on one occasion.

I understand that a 30 entry stamp can be extended twice a year? What are the rules (number of times) for entering by plane and crossing at a land border?

Cheers for any replies

There is no limit on the number of 30 day extensions for visa exempt entries.

By air there is no written limit on the number of visa exempt entries you can do. At land border crossings they are limited to 2 per calendar year.

Yes you can.

But you might get to the point where you have problems at an airport after you get a lot of visa exempt entries. It is not wise to try and stay here long term on them. It would be best to get tourist visas instead.

To me (non native English speaker) this leaves room for misunderstanding.

Of course only one extension per 30 day exempt entry (adding to 60 days) and then leaving the country.

Not applicable to this OP, but there are reports of Phuket limiting the number of visa exempt extensions to one or two.
