Why is there this kind of "impossible communication" between farang and thais ?
Where do you stay? Many Thais become jaded in the tourist areas. For example. I've noticed many Thais in Pattaya lose their politeness and usual Thai hospitality that still can be found in many parts of Bangkok. The smile and welcome, even into a 7-11 seems to be alive and well in many parts of Bangkok but all but absent in Pattaya.
