DTV issued
I don't think anyone has ever been deported for online work based outside of Thailand for a non-Thai company UNLESS there were other circumstances involved. For example, an illegal boiler room, scam center, illegal online narcotic sales, that sort of thing. Or if you are a YouTuber and defamed Thailand but were also caught selling jewelry online, some of it within Thailand (which is clearly working here) that sort of thing.. -

Illegal immigration into the UK (which everyone is focussed on) is almost insignificant when compared with LEGAL immigration. Legal immigration has rocketed since Brexit, when the immigration rules were changed. "In the year ending (YE) December 2023, the provisional estimate of long-term immigration to the UK was 1,218,000, which is broadly similar to our updated estimate for the YE December 2022 (1,257,000) (Figure 1). Looking at the historical picture, until 2019, EU nationals were the larger component of total long-term immigration, whereas since 2021, when the new immigration system was introduced and free movement ended for EU nationals, the majority of immigration now comprises non-EU nationals. In our latest estimates for the YE December 2023, non-EU nationals accounted for 85% (1,031,000) of total long-term immigration. This is similar to levels seen in the YE December 2022. The top five non-EU nationalities for long-term immigration flows into the UK in the YE December 2023 were Indian (250,000), Nigerian (141,000), Chinese (90,000), Pakistani (83,000) and Zimbabwean (36,000)" https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/internationalmigration/bulletins/longterminternationalmigrationprovisional/yearendingdecember2023#:~:text=In the year ending (YE) December 2023%2C the provisional,1%2C257%2C000) (Figure 1). So the UK Home Office are issuing around 23000 long-term immigration visas PER WEEK - about ten every minute of each working day... -

5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
Indeed. I got a residency certificate and converted my DL (with an IDP) to a Thai one on a visa-exempt stamp. That was in Chiang Mai. I think as long as the stamp has over 30 days validity left they'll have no issues with the residency certificate. And in DLT they couldn't care less. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
I believe your conclusion is incorrect. The EU will not agree to the use of nuclear weapons unless its own security is at risk. Nor will western nations with nuclear weapon capability put their own nation at risk of nuclear war to retaliate on behalf of Ukraine. The populations of Germany, USA, UK and France would rise up in violent protest if their countries did this. Some EU countries like Belgium, are ready to capitulate to Russian demands now. -

Advice Needed: Best Visa + Extension Option for Thai Spouse and Child Dependant
Thing is, I live here (in Thailand), and have been doing multiple entry non-o's for a good 10 years. I'm thinking now whether or not it's easier to just get another multi non-o with 400k in my pocket rather than doing a single entry then a 1 year extension. Thing is the 400k will be coming from the UK and would rather I show it in my UK account. But on every consulate website I've seen they ask for it to be in a Thai bank. Which is subject to tax. -

No shortage of reports about the new hospitality initiative https://www.msn.com/en-gb/travel/news/labour-accused-of-putting-illegal-migrants-ahead-of-britons-in-housing-queue/ar-AA1okxfM Personally I don't think its anything new, its been going on for years. I think the "government appointed contractors" are struggling to find suitable accommodation. Nothing but the best is now acceptable for our guests following complaints about standards by people who appear to have left a life of luxury behind them to get to the UK. or rather complaints made on their behalf by the lawyers we provide for them -

I don't directly see a reason for a new coup, because Thaksin is obviously in bed with the military. Once there are some cracks in that relationship, the tanks will come out again -

5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
Based on what? There's nothing to suggest a DTV holder won't be able to secure a certificate of residency through immigration (although some embassies still issue these) or more importantly given what I just stated, obtain a drivers license renewal. Of course I can't be 100% sure, but I don't think they'll treat the DTV like a tourist visa especially with its long validity. -
