I need a copy shop that can:

  • Make 4x6 cm (not 2x2) photographs for Immigration.
  • Make paper print-outs of documents (PDF) from a USB thumb-drive.

Any suggestions in Mall or nearby?

There is a copy shop in the basement in the section that's under construction.  I was going to say that it's in the area where the Subway sandwich shop used to be but that probably won't help since I think you're new to CM.  Maybe a better description would be that it's near the toilets in the basement.

As for where to get photos at KSK, I don't know what happened to the shop that does photos.  There used to be a photo shop in the basement, but it's disappeared in the remodeling.  Perhaps it has relocated; most of the shops did.  Ask at the copy shop, the owner there probably knows where to get a photo done in the mall.

There is an info desk on the first floor, but I've found them less than helpful about some questions, like where the elevators (lifts) are located in order to help someone in a wheelchair get around the mall.  Contrary to what you might think, there are elevators in that mall that can take someone to every level, including the basement, but you have to know where to find them.  They're well hidden.  I suspect the info desk gals may not know where all the stores are located, but it's worth a try.

I've been here in Chiang Mai long enough to know you can't rely on people in malls to answer your questions about where something is located if you only speak English...so that's why I am asking here, so I don't waste hours hunting around for what I need.  As a Westerner it's funny how the simplest things can be such a challenge when in a foreign country and not speaking the language LOL!

Outside of but near Topps (in the basement) there are some notices on the walls here and there saying where the various joints have moved.  I don't know where the photo place moved or if there is a sign about them but it's worth a look.

It's starting to sound like just going to Promenada might be easier after all LOL.  Just funny how the simplest tasks can be so complicated when in a foreign country and not speaking the language ?

Actually, this may be the case.  Especially if you're going to apply for your appointment and then you can go get photos and copies made at the shop next to Immigration.  Sure they charge 200 baht for photos instead of 100 baht and a baht for a copy instead of a satang, but that's not going to break the bank is it?

Sounds like a plan to me ?

Since you are staying in a foreign country, it may be helpful to learn some Thai. What would happen if you were really in trouble?

I am learning Thai but it takes time and in the meantime the language barrier can be challenging, but thanks for the reply.

There is a shop near the Tops entrance in the motorcycle parking area. I have no idea what their capabilities or services are, but they do advertise immigration photos. As for the printing, and copying Buddy internet across the street can do it. Good luck.

The man running the currently relocated copy shop on the ground floor of KSK, mentioned here,  is very friendly, speaks some English, and I am sure can handle files on a flash drive. Ask his advice about your other tasks.
