Fast as possible public internet

Featured Replies

I have a project that is 30gb that needs uploading.

It is going to take a week to do it at my place, and could fail in the middle.

Do you guys know a cafe in bkk that has ultra fast speeds (preferrably somewhere near a bts station)? I don't mind paying top dollar per hour.

Thank you!

Think Society near UdonSuk BTS has very fast wifi. 220 baht day pass.

Thank you. The flat rate sounds perfect.

In Sukhumvit Soi 19 (Nana BTS/Sukhumvit MRT Station) is the Beer Garden, about 500m up the soi on the left.

They have what I think is fast/free WIFI. Coffee 55 Baht.

you'd need to know the upload speed they have because typically download speed is a lot faster

I recommend to compress and split into smaller chunks, whatever you are going to upload. It is easier to re-upload a chunk of let's say 250 MB in case of failure instead of restarting the whole lot. Rar is a portable tool, which is available for almost all operating systems, and it it working very well for huge files, too. A further improvement is uploading of multiple chunks at the same time, which will use the available bandwidth at it's best.

using rar is an excellent idea because it uses an algorithm that allows rebuilding the correct file structure even if missing pieces or damaged.  sort of like what some versions of raid do

Get one of these unlimited 6mbps mobile plans that are available at every provider and upload it over night, also no problems in the future then

likely some of the online large file sending services have a save and auto resume feature should you wish to try it from your home.
