Video: "The first I've heard of it" claims school director as teacher lays into student

Footage shown on Facebook showed a male teacher viciously assaulting a male student.

Fists, elbows and feet were used in the savage attack against the student who showed little resistance to the violent beating, reported Daily News.

Netizens commented in their droves at the latest school violence meted out by a teacher.

Unusually for Thailand the school was named on Facebook as Anusorn Pornsawat in Pho Sadet sub-district of Muang district Nakorn Sri Thammarat in Thailand's south.

However, school director Pornsawat Ratanasuwan claimed that this was the first he had heard of the incident.

He said he would form a committee of inquiry to look into the matter.

The Facebook post on "UShare" asked somewhat rhetorically: "Was this over the top?"

Teacher and director need to be sacked, and teacher sent to jail.   Thailand schools seem to attrack the worst type as teachers.    Proves the stereotype that  teachers (mostly male teachers) are either pervs or bullies.   Same day another teacher stealing female students underwear.

I agree with you but as they say if you pay peanuts AND limit job access mostly to locals what do you expect? The mentality of many, not all, Thais is based on violent behaviour. Does anyone really believe the people the schools hire are of high moral standing? Come on guys get real they are thugs

I do think that most male, and female, teachers are not pervs or bullies.

Stereotyping a group is quite, ehhh, stupid?

Yes, that definitely is what Thailand needs, violence as an answer for anything.

You are right, HansNL. I do apologize and have edited my post.

"He said he would form a committee of inquiry to look into the matter."

Why does he need a "Committee" and why does he not look into the matter himself, and tell all of his findings ?

It is good that Thai students are allowed (or sneaking in) smartphones.  They seem to be quickly learning the power of social media to protect themselves and their peers from wrongful behavior in their school.

This is probably not the 1st incident by this teacher.  Maybe a student decided to get back at the teacher for themself previously being attacked.  Maybe they just wanted to put a stop to this teacher.  There is no telling how many student complaints were overlooked.  It looked to me like whoever was taking the video was trying to keep it under the table.

Social media, seems like the only time something is ever done about a wrong here (or a short living attempt or make a committee) or if it might be a chance for a big photo opp.

Even if a crime has been committed and the teacher was arrested the teacher can only be punished by the local school board in my home country.  My wife said the directors here do not have the authority to fire a teacher but that it is up to a committee to make that decission.
