webfact
There will be election: Peerasak BANGKOK, 11th June 2018 (NNT) – Peerasak Porjit, the second vice president of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand (NLA), has reiterated that a general election will take place, but the date will be determined by the Election Commission (EC). In response to a pro-election activist group’s request to hold an election this November, Peerasak confirmed that the country will go to the polls once everything is in place including election related laws, the readiness of political parties, and the political atmosphere, and that the exact election date will be announced by the electoral organ. He also denied allegations that the legislature’s recent visits to various cities and communities were to gain public support ahead of the national polls, saying the sole intention of the lawmakers visits is to hear people’s problems first-hand, so that they can introduce legislative measures to address the issues. Problems the lawmakers have found are informal debts, the agricultural price slump, high living expenses, road collapses caused by canal dredging, and limited access to the state social welfare program. Peerasak promised that people’s concerns will be heard by the prime minister and responsible agencies. -- nnt 2018-06-

SABloke
Well, the laws are ready to go (With the sign off from the king) and can't be used as an excuse anymore, so they've now come up with an immeasurable variable - the political atmosphere ?

Wilsonandson
There will never be an election. The only hope Thailand has is a counter coup. The Junta will have to be overthrown to get a change in Thailand. Thaksin nearly did it. Who will it be next time?
Eligius
Note how this moron says that 'the political atmosphere' must first be right (that can be never, of course) and that only then can the 'political organ' call an election. I know what 'organ' this junta bunch are best characterised by: it begins with 'p' and is associated with a sharp pain!

You know that it'll eventually come back around again, but until it does you don't know exactly when. 1
