PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Snith Sriwihok has voiced his concern over the growing incidence of kratom in local drug arrests and called for local officials and law enforcement to step up their efforts against illegal use of the indigenous plant.

Speaking at a meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall on Tuesday (June 19), V/Gov Snith revealed that kratom had weighed in as the number one controlled substance in local drug arrests according to statistics reported for April.

“Kratom is still very widespread in Phuket. Despite efforts by officials strictly searching for drugs, kratom is smuggled into the province to be sold all the time,” V/Gov Snith said.

There was talk of making this legal which would mean no arrests which would also apply to Marihuana leaving a lot of room in jails for real criminals .

Then why make it illegal.

And there they are again. Kratom isnt a drug, alcohol is ! Government prohibited in 1934 and wiped most of the trees, a natural growing tree in Thailand. They just did so, to make more profit on opium.

Only in 9 countries in the world, Thailand is one of them, it is prohibited and all other ones you can use and buy it.

Even in Indonesia (moslim) they grow and export the kratom !!! Laos, Vietnam they grow it and sell it.

The kratom was mostly used by Thai working very hard, it should give you an energy boost, as long taking less then 4 gram, if more it has the opposite effect, you should have a nice sleep.

But ofcourse government wants big piece of the action, which they somehow cant have since 1934. However now Thailand is growing marijuana to export ofcourse and still  asswell on opium.

The Thai government is thinking about having kratom again, i red in visa forum once, but they are slow in having decision in that.

Kratom is doing fine in price, you can buy on internet up to 100 usd /kg, but i think they ll protect red bull on which you have the energy boost? They better try to bring that guy to court (heir of red bull), who killed a police officer and is still running free. Ok thats another story

easy make it become legal as it is un USA and no one will ever be arrested , best we stop mafia dealing in such items, as when legal and able to purchase in the dedicated shop, mafia will never trade

kratom its used legally as medicine in many countries.
