Prisoner escapes from Vachira Phuket Hospital

PHUKET: The hunt is on for a prisoner who escaped from Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town after being taken there for treatment for a swollen leg.

 

The commander of Phuket Provincial Prison, Somkid Kammang, said that Prawit Pitak, 23, who was imprisoned on a theft charge, escaped from Vachira Phuket Hospital at 7pm yesterday.

 

According to Mr Somkid, Prawit had been suffering from a swollen left leg and was finding it hard to move.

How do you know there were no restraints?

Why would he need a monitor if he had an escort even if they were in general use in Thailand?

I must say, at over 180cms tall, that swollen leg must be quite long.  ?

Phuket Prison escapee surrenders in Trang

A male prisoner, who escaped from hospital custody on Monday night (June 25), has surrendered himself to the Kan Tang District Chief in Trang.

 

The Phuket Provincial Prison Commander Somkid Kammang filed a report with the Phuket City Police on Monday (June 25).

 

Commander Somkid  says, “The male prisoner 23 year old Prawit Pitak from Trang has escaped from Vachira Phuket Hospital at 7pm Monday night. Prisoner Pravit was jailed for a robbery case last Friday (June 22).”
