Does anyone know any doctors that are specialists for varicoceles and microsurgery to fix them? Been to Bumrungrad with Dr Charuspong Dissaranan who diagnosed and suggested the surgery but want to get a second opinion and make sure the doctor who performs the surgery has a lot of experience with it.

I can't imagine from Dr. Charuspong's qualifications that he is not experienced in this. (2 year fellowship at the Clevealnd Cliniuc). You can certainly ask him how many prcedures he has done.

 

Most varioceles do not require treatment. Is yours causing you pain or is there an infertilty issue?

I got a second opinion at Bangkok Hospital and the doctor disagreed with the gradings and also saying surgery is not required depending on Sperm Analysis. He said he is not sure why the initial doctor suggested surgery. 

 

Getting a 3rd opinion from a UK urologist to confirm the ultrasound.

 

Slight pain occasionally. Not sure about fertility. Got my girlfriend pregnant, but not sure if that was luck and infertility or if everything was fine.

Having gotten someone pregnant pretty well confirms fertility .... and in any case doesn't sound like you are seeking to conceive again at this time.

As mentioned most varioceles do not require treatment. You'll have to decide if the slight pain on occasion is reason enough.

This is not a hard diagnosis to make. I think the issue willl prove to be not the diagnosis but the recommenfation to have surgery.
