Thi guy was not an angel, for sure. But from what was reported in French media, it seems to be a case of excessive use of force. The guy was not armed or threatening and apparently, hit one policeman with his car while running back trying to escape but was not particularly trying to hit him.

The guy who shot also probably did not kill the young guy on purpose, as it seems things happen quite quickly and he reacted rather instinctively. It should be also noted that the members of this particular police body he belongs to, the CRS, are known for not being the smartest ones.

Well what was reported in British media quoted French police saying he nearly hit two kids first. Of course he was threatening.

This is not even certain. According to one of the French mainstream media there are videos showing there was nobody behind the car. Sorry, It's in French.

you don't kill someone who is merely trying to escape unless he is a dangerous criminal or dangerous threat (i.e. he is a terrorist, madman, or has killed someone).

Drug dealers kill people with their poison. He was indeed a dangerous threat.

catch of the day..

A policewoman and her husband were beaten on wednesday evening in front of their 4-year-old daughter in Othis (Seine-et-Marne), RTL reported. The alleged abuser is a dealer who threatened the policewoman a few days earlier during a check. Hes is known for drug trafficking in Aulnay-sous-Bois. The policewoman was injured and her husband had to be hospitalized. There were 2 attackers. No one has been arrested yet.

And fresh from the oven ..
For the third night in a row , more than forty vehicles were burned in the so-called "sensitive" neighborhoods of Nantes, seven public buildings and ten shops were also burned

Turns out that the copper who shot this man has admitted that his initial version of events was not true.

Quelle surprise...

"He recognises he made a statement that did not conform with the truth," Mr Lienard told AFP.”

in effect, he lied.

Rule 1 for liars, never change your story no matter what, even in the face of a video showing different.

There is no law to punish the stupid, or the mistaken, or the delusional ....... but admit to lying and you will suffer consequences.

Rule 2 for police liars with guns, dead men tell no contradictory tales.

Rule number 3: police are not judge, jury or executioner.

Rule number 4: Police who forget rule number 3 go to gaol.
