Applying for US Citizenship - Criminal background checks

Featured Replies

I'm intrested in applying for US citizenship and one requirement is court records for any criminal matters that you had to go to court for.

Anyone know how to obtain Court records - not the criminal background check - from Thai courts?

Do they issue these or are they withheld?

Ok, so if anyone is interested, I finally found out today.

The Police who handled the national criminal records check, called today to tell me for US citizenship applications, I had to go to the local Bangkok court to get the court records of the case. After several hours of waiting, finally got the documents (including a laminated letter about the case), then back to the Police HQ tomorrow, to give them for the criminal records check certificate. I'm glad they knew, because I didn't !

Probably will need to get the court records translated to English, but I'll wait until the certificate from Police HQ arrives.
