He allegedly forgot the „n't“ (not) in his new statement – after a hefty outcry from all political sides, even the conservatives. His new excuse is in a very, very strong contrast to his further remarks … in Helsinki:

He is unfit as president.

 

For the prevention of further damage, he should be removed immediately from office.

 

His temporary dementia relapses are increasing. His ability to speak and think is obviously limited.

Exactly.  Trump is off-the-charts unfit.  And if you'll recall from the press conference, Trump kept bringing up the DNC server, as if somehow there was a cover-up from the "other side."  But to those who understand what's going on, that is an insanely stupid claim.  This article explains....

I've found that one simply can't underestimate the sheer stupidity of the rabid Trump supporter.  Their ability to completely ignore reality staring them in the face is something to marvel.  People like Hannity get paid for their fawning, dishonesty, and hero-worship.  But these hardcore Trump minions on TV, they get nothing.  They're not even one of "Trump's people," meaning if they're not rich or famous, Trump couldn't care less about them.  But yet, here they are.

Except it can't be.  The two paragraphs surrounding that statement were expressing skepticism that Russia had anything to do with election meddling:

 

"My people came to me, Dan Coats came to me and some others; they said they think it’s Russia. I have President Putin. He just said it’s not Russia. I will say this. I don’t see any reason why it would be, but I really do want to see the server. But I have confidence in both parties. ... I think it’s a disgrace that we can’t get Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 emails.

 

So I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today. And what he did is an incredible offer. That's Trump clearly expressing doubts about Russian involvement.  And now we're expected to believe that, in the middle of two paragraphs where Trump is expressing great skepticism about Russian involvement, there should have been a sentence with the word "wouldn't", that expresses precisely the opposite view?

 

Maybe his base will fall for that, but the remaining 70% of the population won't.
