Perhaps it's because in real life most people do not comment "RIP" to every unrelated death they hear about, particularly when nothing is known about the person. I'm obviously not referring to the subject of this OP but you may be wishing peace in death to the worst person that's ever walked the face of the earth.  Why would anyone in their right mind do that?
