Report Warning Over Fraudulent EDPMS Offers on Social Media
File photo for reference only In a recent announcement, the Department of Health (DOH) warned against misleading social media posts advertising paid assistance for accessing the Electronic Drug Price Monitoring System (EDPMS) services. The DOH emphasised that all necessary support for using the EDPMS is provided free of charge. The EDPMS is a crucial tool used for tracking and managing drug prices in the Philippines. All drug outlets and establishments are required to submit their medicine price data through this system to the DOH. In response to growing concerns, the Department highlighted that regional drug price monitoring officers in Metro Manila are on hand to assist with various EDPMS-related activities. These services include account registration, revalidation, and the issuance of compliance certificates. Additionally, users can receive help with uploading data, resetting forgotten passwords, managing personnel changes, correcting data entries, and accessing free orientations on the system's use. The DOH-Metro Manila Center for Health Development explicitly advised against engaging with unauthorised people or online platforms offering to facilitate these services for a fee. By providing clear, accurate guidance, the Department aims to protect individuals and organisations from falling victim to these fraudulent schemes, ensuring that the EDPMS functions effectively and efficiently for all users in the region.
