Good point. But in a caring and truly environmentally responsible society, there are numerous jobs that people could be doing. For example: Thailand is very much an ageing society; those older people need help with all sorts of things. New types of job can be created to help those who are vulnerable, sick, lonely, and so on. With imagination and creativity - all things are possible. Thinking that automation is the end of the world is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Civilisation has been through similar challenges many times in the past - and we are still here, and most of us have (or had) some kind of work. The same will apply to the future. One door closes - but another door opens.

Good points also and of course the new jobs will be in the serving sector.Money is the problem,if less people are working who is going to pay for all that?There are trials with a basic income for all people,working or not and that could be part of the answer.I do not believe in mindless endless work in a factory creates happy people.

Give them the money robots make and let them do their hobbies or enjoy (free) education so they can find a job they like?

Why not skill them to be farmers.

 

Look at what the European farmers are doing. The drought in Germany, farmers are asking for $1 billion to help them thru, I believe. Thais have more initiative.

 

The other big problem is funding and its cost.  No money no honey.

 

Its easy to look at Japan and say Korea, but they have good financial backers within their own country.

 

Need to crawl first

Start by handing out the school grades that are deserved and not passing those who fail.

Have them repeat the grade until they learn the material & legitimately pass!!

Bloody ridiculous education system to begin with.

Just the opposite. I was saying that if Tiny P. was a serious man, which we all know he is not, there are 100 areas where the educational system could be improved.
