Butcher in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hello

I normally buy all my meat in Big C Klang.. Went this morning to try and find some beef to be able to be boiled (not steak type meat)>> Nothing there, even not osso bucco I could eventually use..

Is there any butcher in Pattaya who would have decent beef which can be used to boil (pot au feu)

Have a nice afternoon and thank you

Ask to see the butcher in Big C.... not the staff. Nice chap and always helpful.

Hello

Went to Foodland where they indeed have meat cut in cubes they recomend for goulash, but I need a full piece of meat to boil and this meat without fat is not OK..

I finally found a good choice in Makro, shank, brisket etc... Charolais origin, which is a very famous french quality beef..

Problem solved..

Have a nice week end

I am talking about Noel, the nice english guy in Klang who previously was in charge of Big C Pattaya Tai..

He is very often behind the counter in Klang Big C butchery

Have a nice sunday

Soi Siam Country Rd morning market at 5 am is the best time.

You point what you want and he cuts.

Most beef is day fresh hence a vacuum machine some bags and 2 weeks in the fridge and you won't even find a difference when you serving a steak made in Thailand..

I do it since 10 years this way and found out you don't need to buy Aussie or Argentinian beef, just age it proper...

Depending how much you buy.

for normal household amounts you can mostly compare the price with these from regular Supermarkets, sometimes its slightly cheaper.

I personally don't bother the price, I am more looking for what I want. The Beef is not packed like in the supermarket so they cut for you what you want and the choice is much better then in the coolshelf.

I would say the new built Condominium Complex on the opposite roadside would be a landmark,

but when you come from the Sukhumvit Rd crossing the railway its about 1 - 1.5 Km further on the right side.

Its a huge market hall beside 7/eleven there.

Best time is in the early morning hrs around 5:00 am as then the choice is the best.

When you drive up after crossing the railway I am sure you won't miss it.

Foodland in Pattaya Klang or Friendship in South Rd I find to be the best bet.

Sure, all Supermarkets have some good and some bad stuff in the shelf and I agree that Foodland ist more expensive but also the quality is great. Friendship has almost every Time Oxtails that you wont find anywhere else. Best Supermarket in Dolphin Roundabout in Pattaya Nua is great for minced meats...

A newcomer is a small shop in Pattaya darkside, Soi Khao Talo almost all way up.

Its called "Siambury's" where else you get Edam cheese for 299THB/Kilo? It has also lots of western stuff like HP sauce, Colemans Mustard and frozen pies for half the price than anywhere else.

I spend each week a cpl of 1000 baht there. He has also a small but great priced stoch of frozen Cumberlands, Yorkshires and other meats. (I am German but sorry I prefer British Sausages ;-)

BigC in Klang and Sukumvit Rd for example are worlds apart. Some good sausages, Lamb and a good choice of western cold meats are available in BigC Pattaya Klang comparing the one in Sukhumvit Rd I have the feeling not even to buy meat for the dogs there.. Same Company but way different quality, why is that?

But back to Topic, my favorite Butchers will be always the market in soi Siam Country Club. Its because I point what I want and age my steaks in my fridge.

Until now I always was beating all my mate's Argentinian, Kiwi or Aussie steaks on the BBQ..

Sometimes it is not the Butcher but the effort you put into your beef..

Thai market fresh means under 12hrs dead and if you want to make a steak out of it.

Cut them thick, stuff them into vacuum bags and age them in your fridge by turning daily.

When they are almost black, wash them, cut the thin black layer off and enjoy some most tender steak you can find in LOS.

...or give it to your dogs and watch where they dig them in the Garden, same principle ???? ???? ???? ????
