Report Father's Furious Kick at Kindergarten Sparks Outrage
So many W.T.F.... points in this story... this is one of the worst - the father should be arrested, prosecuted for assault and the school should be leading this drive along with the police. Clear Assault on a defenceless child - Only an arrest and charges can be the outcome - there no mitigating circumstances for this whatsoever. Excellent - good on the family for being strong enough on this spineless school director. But, the measures are utterly disjointed, knee-jerk and pathetic highlighting how the school have absolutely no idea how to handle a situation.... they use a generalised policy punishing all, rather than individually dealing with the situation. Ban the 'specific parent' from entering the the school premises, not all others. -

Relationship Dynamics: Ladyboys vs Women in Thailand?
I have way too many girls in my insta to see if my messages are still there, but we unfriended each other. She was absolutely feminine and gorgeous, you could not tell she was a guy. There was no way. Her behaviour was the biggest tip off, way too sweet understanding and kind, like no girl is normally. -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
He is IMHO spreading disinformation by denying that some remitted foreign income is not to be considered assessable income. If one's remitted foreign income is not tax assessable, it may mean for some there may be no need to file a Thai tax return and (if one still has to file due to some Thai income) there may be no need to list such non-assessable foreign income on a Thai tax return. If many listen to him, I fear we will read of more people, whose remitted foreign income is LEGALLY not to be considered assessable income in Thailand, still file a Thai tax returns when they should not. Why is that bad? Because they may be inappropriately taxed because the various Thai RD branches are not up to speed on Royal Decrees nor on DTAs. And those who inappropriately filed a tax return will have a difficult time in the appeal process. It is important for expats to look at their own financial situation, their income source, Thai law (including some specific Royal Decrees and some RD ministerial directives) and make their own best judgement call whether they need to file an tax return and whether any remitted foreign income they may have is to be considered assessable for Thai taxation purposes. -

Do you still read books?
Yes, I read most days with my morning coffee. I am now reading one of my favorite authors, Ian McEwan. I just finished an Orwell; one I have not read, Coming up for air, next I think will be the king of airport junk, Ken Follett. These e-books do not appeal to me, like the feel of a real book, turning pages, to me, just like looking at a computer. P.S. Does anyone still read books at an airport. -

What exactly is a Thai pink ID card?
Local government hospitals and clinics. Register your details using either Passport or Thai ID card, and they'll issue a hospital card with an ID registration number. The card is then all you need to access services. Free Covid and Flu vaccinations when available.
